Advanced Warfare on PS3/360 not developed by Sledgehammer/£5 off voucher

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare will be released for PS4, Xbox One, PS3, Xbox 360 and PC however the last generation versions are not being developed by Sledgehammer Games.

As reported by Videogamer, these versions will be developed by a different studio.

“PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 owners don’t have to worry about Activision forgetting them, as Advanced Warfare will be brought to the last generation of consoles as well. Sledgehammer will not be handling the development, however. Activision has yet to announce the studio behind these versions of the game.”

It’s currently thought that High Moon Studios, developer of the Transformers titles, may be handling the one handling these ports. For a limited period we’re giving our customers a chance to save £5 on this game. Click on the link before to order.

PS4 has sold more than 7 million units as of April 6

In a press release, the company also revealed that PS4 software sales has passed 20.5 million, while more than 135 million shares have been made via the DualShock 4’s dedicated share button. There has also been over 4.9 million gameplay broadcasts via Twitch and Ustream, attracting over 90 million viewing sessions.

“The response from the global gaming community for PS4 has been overwhelming and we are truly humbled that gamers are selecting PS4 as their next generation console of choice,” said SCE president and group CEO Andrew House.

“The PS4 journey has just begun, and although we are still facing difficulties keeping up with the strong demand worldwide, we remain steadfast in our commitment to meet the needs of our customers, and surpassing the wildest expectations of gamers by delivering new user experiences that inspire and engage. We look forward to unveiling many of these experiences to our fans in the coming months.”

Sony expects to see a total of at least 120 PS4 games released in 2014. Games mentioned for a 2014 release include Alien: Isolation, Destiny, The Elder Scrolls Online, NBA 2K15, Watch Dogs, Driveclub and The Order 1886. Significant indie releases include N++, GALAK-Z: The Witness, The Dimensional, Transistor, Secret Ponchos, Octodad: Dadliest Catch and Daylight.

As for the competition, it’s been a while since we have heard from Nintendo or Microsoft in terms of Global figures. Nintendo was around 5.8 million units shipped last we heard, while Microsoft announced back in January that it has sold around 3.1 million consoles worldwide.

Today is the date that we get figures for U.S sales in March. That should make for interesting reading considering many are expecting Xbox One to have outsold PS4 for the month thanks to the release of Titanfall, along with some significant price promotions on the bundle.

Elder Scrolls online – Pre Order Now Bonus

The Elder Scrolls Online (released 4th April) is set roughly 1,000 years before the events in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and the coming of the Dragonborn, and just before the rise of Tiber Septim, the first Emperor of Tamriel. Three Alliances have emerged across the continent, each struggling for supremacy over the land. As these great powers battle one another for control of the Imperial City – and with it all of Tamriel – darker forces are moving to destroy the world.

The Elder Scrolls Online is the latest chapter of the award-winning franchise and will bring the legendary experience online for the first time. Whether you play with your friends or adventure alone, the game’s combat system allows you to focus on action and tactics, not the UI. Use any weapon or armor at any time and customize your abilities to play the way you want as you uncover the mysteries of Tamriel and seek heroic quests on your own terms. Explore the far reaches of Skyrim, the mysterious lands of Morrowind, the sprawling metropolis of Daggerfall and beyond. The choices you make, from the alliance you join to the battles you fight, will shape your destiny and the world of Tamriel.

Call of Duty: Ghosts generates $1 billion on first day on sale

Activision has announced that the company sold more than $1 billion of Call of Duty: Ghosts into retail stores worldwide as of day one.

“Call of Duty is by far the largest console franchise of this generation,” said Bobby Kotick, CEO of Activision Blizzard. “More people have played Call of Duty this year than ever before, logging four billion hours of gameplay. And in the last 12 months, Call of Duty: Black Ops II, including its digital content, generated more revenues than any other console game ever has in a single year. Although it is too early to assess sell-through for Call of Duty: Ghosts, it’s launching at a time when the franchise has never been more popular.”

Eric Hirshberg, CEO of Activision Publishing describes the game as Activision’s best multiplayer title yet, despite some reviewers disagreeing in that respect.

“This is the must have launch title for the next generation of consoles, and we expect Call of Duty: Ghosts to be the most successful launch title for the Xbox One and PS4 by a wide margin. In fact, according to certain retailers, Call of Duty: Ghosts is their most pre-reserved next gen title.”
